When considering the website, I began exploring with WIX as a platform to design and host website, due to it being free and having a variety of templates to build from and is relatively easy to use. The Home Page consists of a portfolio overview, with few projects that are revealed within dropdown menu. A change in title hue is evident when hovering over each selection and indicates what webpage currently show. Overall design feels considered yet is a little too revealing for the Home Page and layout could lead to confusion as to which image belongs to which series. Although cohesive, page does feel a little repetitive. Muted colour scheme, predominantly off white with accent tones of a teal blue and peach orange. Block Capitalised Serif font for name and subtitle, size 46pt, provides a certain and professional introduction to photographer’s work and the use of underlined spacing separates from work. I applied an overlay to the images that reveal image title when hovering over each photograph – this can also be seen underneath each image when clicking onto it.
The “Home Page” consists of most successful photographs taken throughout my time at university. Once entering the drop-down menu found under ‘Selected Work’, each individual project is listed in regard to most recent work. Again, chose to incorporate most successful projects created throughout the duration of University. Each project introduced by title and brief overview or artist statement declaring the intentions and narrative behind the work. This remains on the right-hand side throughout each subpage with a Serif Typeface. Additional pages consist of “About”, “Contact” and “Blog”, creating a sense of professionalism.
